Clashes have erupted between supporters of the Ukrainian government and pro-Russian protesters in the restive eastern city of Kharkiv. Several people have been injured in the violence there. Local officials say a security officer is among the casualties. Anti-Kiev protesters were calling for federalism and closer ties with Russia. Separately, pro-Russian protesters seized control of the local TV station in the city of Donetsk. They also reportedly took the Ukrainian channels off the air and replaced them with five Russian channels. Pro-Russian protesters accuse the Ukrainian television networks of distorting the developments in the country.
