BTC Direct - News update! View this e-mail in your browser Dutch political party pays for electoral participation with bitcoin On the 15th of march the Dutch elections will be held. They will be voting for the House of Representatives. One of the participating parties is the 'Pirate party'. They have paid the deposit of 11.250 euros to participate in the elections from donations made in bitcoin. This is the first time a political party used bitcoin to pay for the deposit in the Netherlands The first digital ambassador of the World You may know that Denmark is one of the top Bitcoin-friendly countries of the world. But recent developments could perhaps even speed up the process of bitcoin acceptance in the country. The Danish Foreign Minister, Anders Samuelsen, states that the country might appoint a 'Digital Ambassador' soon. This new ambassador will represent Denmark's interests to the world's largest technology companies such as Google, Apple and Microsoft. But why does Denmark need this Digital Ambassador? They state that building a cashless society and attracting investments from technology companies are Denmark's primary objectives.
